Trip to California

   

We're back! Eddie, Riley, & I flew out to California last week for our annual trip. The trip started off with a bang though. Ali was going to fly home on Tuesday & we were scheduled to leave on Wednesday morning. Due to the hurricane, Eddie did not have to go into work on Tuesday. That morning we were all bumming around slowly getting ready to take Ali to the airport when Eddie decided to check in for our flight online. It turns out our flight was cancelled! He got US Air on the phone & comes rushing out of the office and says "Get packed. We are leaving in a few hours!" Getting packed for myself is hard enough, but with a toddler in the mix & all the stuff that comes along with a week long trip across the country, it was a big task. We managed though & were amazed how fast you get packed if you really need to. We said goodbye to Ali at the airport & headed off to our gate. We flew out at 1:30pm & the airport shut down at 2pm!

Riley did wonderful on the flights & we ended up getting settled into our hotel room by 3am eastern time. The rest of the trip went good. We took Riley to the park everyday since the weather is so nice. We got to see some of Eddie's friends & their kids along with his Aunt, Uncle, & Cousin. Our favorite part was when we stayed in Carlsbad on the beach. We had fun walking around the shops, eating fish tacos, and enjoying the weather. After dinner every night we let Riley run around the beach. She would chase the birds, play in the water, & throw sand on our feet. 

So now we are home....it is nice, but we miss the weather out in CA. Can someone please do something about this heat?

A visit from Aunt Ali

 

My sister, Ali, flew to FL a few weeks ago for some much needed Riley time & to shop of course! We had a great time...lots of shopping, swimming, playing with Riley, more shopping, eating, shopping, you get the idea. I think we giggled the entire week. Poor Eddie! We were all sad to see her go. Hurry back Ali...I need someone to talk me down from the shelf at Gap ;)

17 Months Old!

  

Where is my baby going? Riley is 17 months old now....almost a year & a half. I cannot believe it. She is doing new things every day. We can ask her to find certain things & she will run off & find them for us. She loves when we ask her what noises certain animals make. She understands so much. She loves swimming & cuddling with Honey. She also enjoys running around outside & racing her matchbox cars around while saying "Vroom vroom!" We are having so much fun with her. I just wish I could keep her little forever!!

My Gym

  

One of Riley's favorite things to do is go to her My Gym class. She loves running around & climbing on everything. She was very excited to have her Aunt Ali at her class on Saturday. Ali took plenty of pictures too!

Riley went on a date this morning! We met up with my friend Mindy & her cutie pie son Cole at the park. Riley had a blast chasing a squirrel around and going down the slide. She also became best friend with the largest golden retriever I have ever seen. The thing was massive. Maybe it was a grizzly bear & I didn't even know it. If so, it must have been a pretty tame grizzly because Riley thought it was hilarious to grab his ginormous tongue. Riley's favorite piece of equipment at the park was the window with the bars in it...pictured above. They made noises when you would run your hand over them. Hopefully, that is the only time I will see her behind bars. All she needs in the picture is a an empty tin cup & a good shank!

Oh...and by the way...can someone please send some cooler weather down here? 

Look who's got ponytails!

I had to make sure I snapped this pic fast, because she left them in there for a whole 5 seconds after I put them in. She looks so grown up! Where is my baby going?
